State Senator Joan V. Hartley (D-Waterbury) was honored by the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cabinet at their annual luncheon this week with their “Legislator of the Year Award,” recognizing her for her dedication and leadership in support of Connecticut’s small businesses.
The Leadership Cabinet represents all the Chamber of Commerce Benefit Centers and Chambers of Commerce in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The council is made up of more than 70 Chamber of Commerce executives throughout Connecticut.
“It was truly a surprise and indeed an honor to be informed of my nomination for the Chamber Benefit Center’s Leadership Cabinet Legislator of the Year Award. The work of the Waterbury Chamber and of Chambers throughout the State of Connecticut is even more crucial now in this environment of serious government and fiscal challenges. I am proud to be named the 2009 Legislator of the Year and I look forward to representing taxpayers, families and businesses alike as we approach the second year of the biennial budget,” said Senator Hartley.
