State Senator Andrea L. Stillman (D-Waterford) will welcome world-renowned forensic scientist Dr. Henry C. Lee to New London tomorrow for a presentation entitled, 'Lessons Learned From Famous Cases.' The event will be video taped for future broadcast on Court TV, Senator Stillman said.
The occasion is also meant to raise money for the Court TV/Henry Lee Fund, "in support of the University of New Haven's Smart Classroom Initiative," according to Court TV. Dr. Lee now teaches at the University of New Haven.
"It's a great pleasure to anticipate Dr. Lee's New London event, Senator Stillman said. "He's nothing less than a superstar in his field and given the proliferation of crime shows on television--Court TV and elsewhere--it would seem the general public is almost as fascinated with detailed detective work as he is."
According to Court TV Dr. Lee will provide a, 'fascinating inside look at the cases of O.J. Simpson, Jon Benet Ramsey, and Laci Peterson," at tomorrow's presentation.
The event will be held at the Lighthouse Inn at 6 Guthrie Place in New London, beginning at 5:30 p.m., and members of the public are invited to attend. The per-person cost of the event is $25. Reservations are required, but payment will be accepted at the door.
